Welcome to BoxPlay.
BoxPlay is a system for administering an ongoing box league or box tournament
The BoxPlay system is basically free to use. If a club decides to use the system to run their internal box league on a more "permanent" basis, it is hoped that the club will contribute towards the service by purchasing a subscription.

A box tournament is played by a collection of players - typically within a club - in individual sport where matches are played between two competitors. Typical examples are racquet sport such as tennis, squash, badminton, table tennis etc. Typically, the number of participants in a box tournament is too large to allow everyone to just play everyone else in each round.
Each month (typically), participants are divided in groups - boxes - of about 4 (or 5) players, such that the top ranked 4 is in box 1, the next 4 in box 2 etc. Within each box, a mini-tournament then takes place where each player plays a match against each other player. Points are awarded for each match, so that by the end of the box period, there will be a winner and a looser for each box. The winner then advances to the box above, and the looser is relegated to the box below, and new boxes are created for the next box round.
Box tournaments - or box leagues - can run like that for years. In Birkerød Squash Club where I play, we have had such a tournament running uninterrupted since the club was founded nearly 15 years ago.
A box tournament is ideal for forming the basis of a clubs official rankings. The big advantage is that it forces players to be active in order to maintain their rank - as opposed to a system based on challenges.
The BoxPlay system allows participants in a box tournament to enter match results online, and to follow results in other matches and boxes.
At the end of a box period, the system can calculate winners and losers in each box, perform advances and relegations, and generate boxes for the next round.
Within the system, a player can initiate the sending of emails to individuals or groups of fellow players - everyone in a given box or list.
Typically, a box round runs over a calendar months, but this is completely up to each club to decide. For example, one can decide to extend the period over the summer or over the Christmas holidays.
